Samuel planted Indian Corn and Nicholas planted Strawberry Pop Corn in the garden this year. I thought they had to dry on the stalk before being picked, but not completely sure on that. Tried to Google for information and all I got was page upon page of places to pick corn, pumpkins, etc. If you have grown either of these before and know when they should be harvested (like regular corn, something different) I sure would appreciate knowing. Also, if it's picked and then dried, how did you do that? Did you just set it out somewhere? Also, on that strawberry pop corn, what was your experience with it? Did you pop it on the cob, take it off, and how did you pop it? The kids wanted to sell their harvest at the Farmers Market we go to each Saturday morning. Thanks for your help!

Smiling & Waving,
Sharon

Sharon, in a perfect situation, Yes, you shoud let it dry on the stalk; however, this is not always possible due to weather conditions.
If the weather is wet, probably best to harvest and dry it inside. when it's ready to harvest the husks will
look dry and brown.
If damp/cool/snowy weather hits, dry it inside
on screens, in a milk crate or an onion bag..we have Our strawberry popcorn and Bloody butcher meal corn in a milk crate drying in the garage where it's about 40° and out of the light.
