That is the question!!!!
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them?

In the pond life~
So many folks are anxious to get that spring cleaning done, yet here I say~

HOLD! Wait for the time to be right, Hold
I say, hasten not for cleanliness, cleave not
the homes of our true and trusted alliance,
for within the pond's clutter of fallin leaves,
wintered alga and twig, stay at rest the
homeliness of our good providers. Be he
toad, frog or dragonfly. The cycle begins
within. Given unto them their needs be met,
in turn, thy skeeters shall they eat. And be thee
well sighted with joy in thou's own eyes.

clapp ~~ Wonderful! ~~
Don't you just wanna grab a friend and show them off?Hugger
I do!
I get so excited at seeing all the little things attracted to water, and
the sounds it makes. Pond life is very interesting to watch. Last year I had
Fishstix, the large mouth bass. So far this year I have two perch that I res-
cued, a fantailed goldfish, 2 cory's and some guppies. Oh, Arrow by the
way~
did you know, a guppy is suppose to be able to live in a tablespoon of water ?
AND eat many times it's size, in *mosquito . hmm! scratch Can't remember
where I read that, but thought it to be a very interesting bit of trivia.

Do you ever see dragonflies?

*n. any of numerous small winged insects whose females Embarassed
suck the blood of animals and humans

oh yes, i have a lot of dragonflys around, and damsel flys too. there is a hole left near the woods from my sister building her house next door several years ago that has turned into a natural little pond. lots of frogs, dragonflys and other stuff breed there. I also have several bird baths i have made around the yard so lots of water to attract the dragonflys.

I have several comets and 2 koi and several snail along with many frogs that have found there way to my pond. I plan on gettingmore fish tho.

What i want now is a bat house to put up near the pond. I knwo we have bats around, i've seen them

Wrennie has bat houses for sale....maybe she will put one up for a raffle again. I'd like one too. I know they are around here, I can hear them at night.

Perhaps we should explain our fondness for bats here, first of all lets get one thing straight,
if Jack wouldn't have shown up in my life.... Batman would have my whole heart. Bats are
the skeeter stalkers of the night, I would hate to think of how many of those little blood suckers there would be if bats weren't here to seek and destroy while we gently sleep. Bats
need a flat surface of water to be able to drink, no stopping nor standing around for those guys. Merely a swoop down for a sip then its back to work.

FromThe Bat Basics, Swartz Lab at Brown University:
http://www.brown.edu/Departments/EEB/EML/background/bat_basics.htm

Bats are Important in Many Ways:

Controlling the insect population. A single little brown bat can catch up to 600 mosquitoes in an hour, and some bats can even catch up to 2,000 mosquito-sized insects in an hour. Pollinating plants. In the wild, bats are responsible for new plant growth through pollination and seed dropping. This is especially important in tropical areas. But even in drier climates such as the North American southwest, nectar-feeding bats are the main pollinators of certain plants-in this case, the saguaro cactus.
Certain bats are helpful to farmers. These bats help save crops from damage by eating rootworms

I love you So lets help those little babies out when we can.
ps.....as of today~~~~I've still never had a bat fly into or get wrapped up in my hair, land on my
clothes or attack me in any way. Even when I did have to remove them from my old house.
hello there
